Jenny writes and makes art because she likes to turn her thoughts into ‘creativity’. Living with schizophrenia, thoughts can be troublesome while creation is a joy.

Current:
PhD candidate at RMIT University, Project Title: Voices to Sing and Hands to create: expressions of authentic difference. Aim to create songs, video works, images and sculptural paintings referencing my themes of politics, personal (trauma, mental health and neurodiversity) and environment in light of the distraction i experience from family violence and the fall out of voice hearing, how such a lived experience impacts on all these interests and themes of intellectual pursuit.

RMIT Gallery, Archives of Feeling: The Knowledge of Trauma, 23 September -10 Dec 2022, exhibition of art and poetry. Live performance, Songs of Unknowing: a series of five of Jenny’s hand-written songs, a musical response to the patient archives of the Cunningham Dax Collection, happens on 10th Nov, followed by a panel discussion on the topic.

Solo exhibitions Sticks and Stones will Break my Bones, but Words Can Totally Destroy my Mind!, Blindside Sound Series Program, Melbourne 6-23 April 2022, curated by Joel Stern of Liquid Architecture. Sam Pankhurst, internationally recognised Australian musician, practiced with us for the live performance, he wrote: ‘I so loved playing together .... Best music I’ve played for a long time. A real honour to meet you and play your music.’
Melbourne Fringe 2021, Digital and two Live performances of Living Live, the epigenetic musical, anecdotal and researched journey through Jenny’s maternal family, at Woodend, both sold-out.
